Blankets for Brains Program

In 2011, Walk For Kate established its Blankets for Brains program. We believe everyone loves a warm fuzzy afghan, quilt, or blanket, and it is our goal to provide brain tumor patients with this welcomed comfort. These blankets will be hand-made in clean, smoke-free enviroments and distributed to brain tumor patients who wish to receive one. We need some help from you, our wonderful supporters, to make this program a success.

~First, we need to know who would like one of these fabulous blankets. If you know anyone you think would love to receive an afghan, quilt, or blanket, please let us know! It can be anyone who is afflicted with a brain tumor -- any man, woman or child of any age who is suffering from a brain tumor and could use some comfort. If you know someone, please provide us with their name, address, age, and a little bit about them (i.e. what colors they like and a few of their interests). We will do our very best to fulfill every request.

~Second, we are in need of materials. If you have any new yarn, fabric, thread, or anything needed to make a blanket, quilt, or afghan and would like to donate it, please contact us! Materials must be new and from a clean and smoke-free environment to ensure the safety of recipients.

~Third, If you have the time, inclination, know-how, and a big heart, and you'd like to make your own blankets for Blankets for Brains, we would love to hear from you. The more people making blankets, the more comfort we can provide! Just send an email and let us know how you'd like to help!

~We also gladly and gratefully accept monetary donations for supplies and shipping the blankets we make. If you'd like to make a donation specifically for this purpose, please follow the link below and specify "Blankets for Brains" in the "comments" section.

We believe this will be a very big success, and we'd like to thank everyone for making it possible!
